STUDENTS TRIUMPH IN MINI OLYMPICS
Bury College students claimed a range of gold, silver and bronze awards during the 2017 Foundation Studies Sports Day.
Over 100 learners kick-started the new academic year with their annual mini Olympics event. The sports day encouraged sportsmanship and improved the confidence of students as they all enjoyed the day’s events.
Activities included a 200 meter relay, bean bag balance, archery and shot put. Students completing the New Horizons course triumphed during many of the activities and were crowned the overall winners.
Daniel Cullen, Bury College Foundation Studies Lecturer said of the event, “The Mini Olympics was a great way to start the year and for our students to have the opportunity to make new friends and try new things. Everybody tried their best and the sportsmanship on show was unbelievable".
