Brendon Collard and James Mostyn

Brendon Collard and James Mostyn have received career changing scholarships to study at two top stage schools after completing their Level 3 Performing Arts Extended Diplomas at Bury College.

18 year old Brendan, a former Little Lever School pupil from Bolton, will be progressing onto the Midlands Academy of Dance and Drama (M.A.D.D) after securing a 90% scholarship. Brendan was awarded his place at the Academy following a string of auditions which included performing a dance routine, song and monologue. Brendan then had to complete more auditions to secure his scholarships.

Brendan said of his fantastic achievement, “I honestly couldn’t believe it when I heard the news that I had not only received a place but also been granted a scholarship! This scholarship will go along way in supporting me during my time at M.A.D.D. I have really enjoyed my time at Bury College and don’t think I would have developed the skills I have if I hadn’t chosen to study here.”

Also celebrating success is 18 year old James from Middleton. James has earned a 100% scholarship for SLP College which he is hoping will lead him to his dream career of performing in the West End.

The former Middleton Technology School pupil said, “I was ecstatic to hear I had secured a place and I am really thankful for my scholarship. Bury College is the best thing that I have done and it has totally changed my life. Without the support from my tutors and peers I wouldn’t be where I am now.”

Brendan and James join the long list of former students who have progressed onto top stage schools and have achieved their career dreams. Secure your career goal with a Bury College Performing Arts course. There is still time to apply for this September, call 0161 280 8280.
