WORKSHOP OPPORTUNITIES PROVIDE PERFORMANCE STUDENTS THE PLATFORM TO SHINE

Performing Arts students with Phil Schofield

From West End stars to international choreographers, Bury College was delighted to welcome industry renowned performers to train Performing Arts students.

During the first term of the academic college year, committed Bury College School of Performance students have enjoyed workshops from former students as well as high-profile names from the industry.

The first superstar to visit the students was Bury College alumni Philip Anderson who completed his Performing Arts diploma in 2013 and has achieved exceptional career success as a Dancer. Philip has performed at The Royal Albert Hall, Birmingham Royal Ballet at the Theatre Royal just to name a few. Philip is now starring in Magic Mike on the West End. The former Matthew Moss High School pupil visited the students to share his experiences and deliver technical training.

Other names to visit was choreographer Stuart Hayes and international celebrity choreographer Mark Webb.

Students were delighted to have exposure to such big names from across the industry. First year Level 3 Performing Arts student Sara Vernioli said, “The first term of my Performing Arts course has been so inspiring. Having the opportunity to receive training from so many professionals is really motivational. I have learnt higher level techniques and my dancing styles have improved.”
