Bury College School of Performance students were given the opportunity to learn some backstage industry tips when an international choreographer visited the college.
World renowned dance choreographer Mark Webb shared his expertise with talented students during a workshop masterclass session. Learners were delighted to be gaining skills from an industry professional which will help them achieve their future career aspirations.
Mark counts Destiny’s Child, Take That, Cher, Steps, Elton John, Girls Aloud and Cliff Richard amongst artists that he has shared a stage with. His career has seen him tour the world and perform at huge UK pop concerts including The Brits and Party in the Park. Mark was also a regular on hit UK TV programmes such as Top of The Pops and CD:UK.
Mark said, “I delivered this workshop to show the students what it takes to be a professional dancer. To be successful in this industry it takes a strong work ethic, hard work and passion. I have really enjoyed passing my experiences on to the students.”
The workshop included a 40 minute warm-up followed by learning a piece of commercial choreography.
Bury College Level 3 Performing Arts student Jordan Loonam was delighted to take part in the workshop. The former Cardinal Langely RC High School pupil said, “The session with Mark Webb was brilliant, I found the class so motivational and he brought a great energy to the group.
