Bury College Art students bring colour to Rose Court Care Home
Our second-year Textiles and Fine Art pathway students recently visited Rose Court Care Home to run a series of arts and crafts workshops.
Applied
Science is a work-related qualification that focuses on the development of
practical skills and underpinning knowledge in the Science industry . The course
will appeal to students who enjoy studying Science through practical work such
as completing projects and assignments based on realistic workplace
situations.
The topics studied on this course are:
• Principles of science
• Chemistry and our Earth
• Energy and our Universe
• Biology and our environment
• Applications of chemical substances
• Applications of physical science
• Health applications of life science
• Scientific skills
How you will be assessed:
- 25% examination
- 75% coursework
Future career opportunities may include:
- Forensic Scientist
- Research Scientist
- Laboratory Technician
- Chemist
- Scientist
- Technologist
There may be possible coursework study visits, dependent upon the optional units being studied.

For Level 2 Applied Science: 4 GCSEs at grade 9-3 (including Maths, English Language and either Combined Science or 2 separate Sciences)
