We offer all students the chance to take part in a number of different activities which are free to Bury College students. It is an excellent way to meet new people and make new friends whilst potentially learning a new skill and being physically active. Activities vary each year and are tailored to student demand.

Get involved with a wide range of sport enrichment including Badminton, Boxing, Cricket, Football, Running, Gym, Nerf, Volleyball and Table Tennis.

Sports Teams

Be part of our Sports teams!

Trials are held during the first few weeks of the academic year and all students are welcome to try out for a team of their choice. Our teams include:

  • Basketball
  • Men’s Football
  • Netball

We are currently members of the North West Colleges Sports League meaning we play fixtures against a number of colleges throughout the North West.

We also have a range of opportunities for students to take part in one off sports tournaments such as Badminton, Volleyball and Cricket.

Tackling Inactivity in Colleges

Bury College is proud to be one of the few colleges in the country to be selected to deliver a Sport England Tackling Inactivity Project.  We support students who are currently inactive and build their confidence and competence to lead more active, healthy lifestyles.

We currently have a strong focus on helping students who may identify as having low mental health. We work closely with these students to show the benefits that physical activity can have on mental health and help them become more physically active.
