Current job role: Paramedic for the North West Ambulance Service
Quote: “My time at Bury College was really good. I spent two days a week out on placement which varied from working on wards to A&E placements. During my placements I covered clinical observations, basic patient care and built on my communication skills with patients. These placements were a real eye opener to the industry that I was going into and gave me a hands-on approach to my studies.”

Employer: The Fisherman’s Retreat
Success: Apprentice William was the first ever Bury College Commis Chef and is impressing the Head Chef at well-renowned Gastro restaurant The Fisherman’s Retreat.
Quote: “An apprenticeship has given me a great insight into the industry and I have gained a lot of experience of how the workplace operates. I have learnt how to use my initiative, however there is also lots of support available should I need it.”

Course: Supported Internship
Success: Rachael successfully completed a Supported Internship placement at the Aquarium based at Bolton Central Library and Museum and as a result secured a volunteering role at the popular cultural tourist attraction.
Quote: “I really enjoyed the placement and everyone was really nice. I liked doing my walk round checks of the Aquarium and looking after the fish.”
