Welcome to Bury College – let’s learn safely

The college has worked hard to create a safe learning environment for students. To ensure learners are aware of the safety measures, all students will receive a clear induction which outlines the range of expectations and how they can keep themselves and each other safe.

Staff are on-hand to help students through this period and offer guidance and support. A range of specialist support services can also be accessed such as the college counselling team.

Keeping everyone safe

In order to manage risk and to ensure the safety of students and staff, a high number of support measures have been implemented.

These include:

  • Maintain social distancing: Keep 2 meters apart.
  • Masks on the move: Appropriate face coverings must be worn in all communal areas.
  • Uphold good hygiene: Clean your hands immediately on entering college, at regular intervals when in college and before you leave.
  • Show consideration: Queue responsibly.
  • College attendance: Only attend college for your timetables classes.
  • Be kind: Any behaviour which breaches social distancing is expressly forbidden.
  • Staff support: Teaching staff, safeguarding, pastoral and ALS teams are all here to support you.
  • Respect the college community: Your conduct and behaviour are more important than ever. You must adhere to the guidelines as per your induction.

Abiding by these rules will ensure that students are staying alert and looking after themselves and one another.

As always, the health and safety of our students and staff are of upmost importance.  We look forward to welcoming you to Bury College and continuing to support you to achieve your qualifications.
