This Law course will give you the opportunity to gain a detailed insight into the workings of the court system and the legal personnel who are involved in criminal, civil and consumer law.

You will be exposed to a wide range of complex concepts and ideas to provoke and stimulate you. You will also gain high level thinking skills that are valued in all employment fields and will support your higher education and career goals.

Your areas of study will include:

The setting of rules by judges and how Acts are interpreted by judges, alongside offences and defences to crimes.

How laws are made by Parliament and the law of negligence.

The law of contract.

Assessment is 50% assignment and 50% controlled assessment.

There will be a learning opportunity to take part in an interactive workshop run by local magistrates in relation to the sentencing process

Future career opportunities may include:

For A-level programmes: 6 GCSEs at grade 9-4 (to include 3 GCSEs at grade 9-4 and 3 GCSEs at grade 9-5). Require grade 9-4 in English Language and Maths.
