If you’re a qualified industry expert with a passion for sharing expertise, you could train to teach at Bury College.
We are working with the Department for Education to deliver a new initiative that is offering:
- A fully funded teaching qualification (PGCE/CertEd) taught over two years which will allow you to teach those aged 14+
- A package of intensive support to help you during the first few months as a teacher, including from your line manager, learning improvement leaders and peers
- A reduced teaching timetable in your first two years
In addition to this support package you will be recruited to one of our vacant Trainee Lecturer positions, and on successful completion of the probation period will secure a permanent teaching contract.

About You
This programme has certain criteria for candidates, including:
- Must be new to teaching
- Must not already hold any teaching qualifications
- Expected to have a minimum of a Level 3 qualification in their field of expertise (or equivalent suitable experience, determined at the college’s discretion)
- Expected to have, or be willing to work towards, a Level 2 qualification in English and maths
- Satisfy the College’s recruitment criteria
