I consent to my image and information given to appearing in Bury College brochures, literature, local and national press and any other promotional material relating to Bury College including the internet, social media, billboards, adverts, posters and leaflet.

 

In some cases, the image may be used with external partners, contractors and stakeholders. We may need to contact you regarding the use of your image and will use your Bury College Student Email address to do so. 

 

I agree to my image being kept and stored on file for three years, after which time they will no longer be used. Your image and information may be used for general promotions or course specific promotions.

I understand my images will be held in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation and the Data Protection Act 2018.

 

The Data Protection Act

 

The Data Protection Act is intended to protect any individual about whom information is captured or used. The Act regulates the use of information which can be used to identify individuals. This includes, but is not limited to, paper files and documents, electronic records, digital records, images and sound recordings.

 

The six Data Protection Principles state that personal data must:

  1. Be obtained and processed fairly and lawfully and not processed unless certain conditions are met.
  2. Be obtained for a specified and lawful purpose and not processed in any manner incompatible with that purpose
  3. Be adequate, relevant and not excessive for those purposes
  4. Be accurate and kept up to date
  5. Be kept no longer than is necessary for that purpose
  6. Be kept safe from unauthorised access, accidental loss or destruction

 

Bury College and all employees, students or individuals processing personal information on behalf of the College are responsible for adhering to the principles of data protection at all times.
