Bury College proudly collaborates with local businesses to create opportunities for learners to gain valuable experience in the workplace. One of those businesses is Brandlesholme Dentistry, who currently employ Apprentices through the College.

New ideas and hands-on learning

Danielle, manager at the practice, shares her reasons for hiring Apprentices, and the benefits that Apprenticeships bring to the organisation, below:

“We like to employ Apprentices; they help us as a practice. We find that it's nice to start them from the very beginning and follow them on their journey. They bring new ideas on how to communicate with customers and make their experience better.”

She added, “Apprenticeships allow learners to be hands-on, get used to the working day, learn time keeping and teamwork.”

The Apprenticeship programme at Bury College allows learners to receive both academic training and workplace experience, something which Danielle appreciates:

“Working with Bury College is great. It's close by, convenient. Apprentices spend a day a week in college, and their Learning and Skills Coaches also come into the practice to observe them whilst they are working.”, she commented.
