Welcome to year 2 of the Public Services course at Bury College. As part of our continued commitment to preparing learners for employment in public services, it is compulsory for all students to wear the official Public Services uniform during all lessons and practical sessions. This forms a key component of our Be Ready to Learn policy and supports the development of essential skills such as compliance, discipline, and professionalism.
Students are responsible for ensuring they have sufficient uniform items to wear at all times in college, including spares, while others are being laundered.
Students will already have uniform from last year but additional or replacement uniform items can be purchased from the ADM Direct Bury College shop - Public Services - ADM direct. The items that are available are below:
During the 2nd year induction, sample items will be available for learners to try on to ensure correct sizing prior to purchase. Please note that all items bought through ADM are non-refundable and cannot be exchanged.
In addition to the uniform, learners are required to wear walking boots for certain practical activities such as hikes and expeditions, in accordance with health and safety regulations. Learners can purchase these independently.
Learners must also provide their own plain black footwear to wear with the uniform and plain black leggings, shorts, or joggers to accompany the sports T-shirt during physical activities
The college can provide financial assistance for purchasing uniform and/or equipment resources through the Financial Support Schemes (i.e. bursary) – Details of which will be provided and discussed at enrolment. Any further information required regarding financial support available, please enquire with Student Services https://burycollege.ac.uk/full-time/student-support. The student services team will also be available during enrolment.
