Studying English Literature allows you to immerse yourself in different worlds and learn about different societies throughout history and across the world.

The topics studied on this course are:

Gothic Literature – Dracula, The Picture of Dorian Gray and short extracts
Drama and poetry pre-1900 – The Duchess of Malfi and selected poetry by Christina Rossetti
Literature post-1900 (coursework) – A Streetcar Named Desire, Atonement and selected poetry by Carol Ann Duffy
Shakespeare – The Tempest

Assessment is 80% exam and 20% coursework.

For A-level programmes: 6 GCSEs at grade 9-4 (to include 3 GCSEs at grade 9-4 and 3 GCSEs at grade 9-5). Require grade 9-4 in English Language and Maths.
For A-level English Literature: Grade 9-5 English Language
