This course will provide you with knowledge and understanding of the core issues and principles in Health and Social Care. It will build on your existing knowledge and experience whilst developing and expanding your skills and practice. You will gain the skills required for work in the health and social care sector through a total of 225 hours of mandatory work experience.
You will also have access to our brand-new Health and Digital Centre which opened in January 2023. This boasts industry standard facilities including a simulated hospital ward and replicated domestic home.

There will be opportunities afterwards to progress onto a degree course or higher level apprenticeships. You may also gain employment in a range of careers in healthcare, including: healthcare assistant practitioner roles in a range of settings, nursing assistant roles, care navigation, planning and assessment roles as well as roles in public health, health promotion and non-clinical healthcare supervisory or lower management.
Please note there may be additional costs for DBS checks and educational trips assoicated with this course. Students should have independently secured a work placement before they start their course. Students must complete a total of 225 hours over the duration of their course.

You will also engage in the Positive Futures Careers Programme, developing key employability skills through a diverse range of activities including work placements, volunteering, employer talks, industry study visits and employment and university fairs.
The majority of students will be able to access a Tuition Fee Loan from Student Finance England to pay their HE Course Fee.
Self-funding students may pay in 3 instalments in September (33%), January (33%) and April (33%).
