At College, we promote positive mental health through our enrichment activities, providing quiet spaces, workshops, and more.

Wellbeing support

Our wellbeing advisor offers early guidance, ongoing support, and coping strategies to help students manage their mental health. Whether you need a listening ear, advice, or skills to increase your wellbeing, the wellbeing advisor can provide support to meet your unique needs and situation.

Here are some of the ways we provide wellbeing support at Bury College:

  • One to one wellbeing support: Students can access individual wellbeing sessions in which the College provide student a safe space to talk, seek advice, and explore coping strategies to manage challenges that impact their wellbeing and college experience.
  • Drop-in support: Regular drop-ins provide flexible access to seek support without the need for an appointment.
  • Workshops: Deliver workshops across the College, focusing on topics such as exam stress and looking after wellbeing, sleep and healthy routines, and understanding and managing anxiety.

This online mental healthcare service provides mental health support to individuals under 21. Access 1:1 support from mental health professionals via live chat or message, where individuals can stay anonymous and access a safe space to talk.

Kooth Website

Specialist drug and alcohol support is available for young people under the age of 21, alongside group support for families who are using or are affected by drugs and alcohol.

Early Break Website

Provides young people with resources and information on how they can look after their mental health. In addition, parents can access resources to understand more about young people’s mental health and where to find suitable support for them.
