Horizons is a specialist provision for students with Profound and Multiple
Learning Difficulties and Autism. It is designed to help every student achieve
their full potential; this is done through a combination of rigorous assessment,
bespoke timetabling and person centred planning.
Our
curriculum includes Entry 1 Preparation, practical life skills, multi-sensory
learning and community based activities. It encourages you to learn through
interaction. The relationships you form with familiar staff allows us to learn
about your abilities, motivations, communication methods and preferences to
teach you new skills in a structured, supportive way.
You
are assessed through a range of assessment tools and
observation.
Where
appropriate, you may progress onto a pre-entry programme or adult
services.
There
will be additional costs for trips and visits. Students on this course normally
require an extended transition period.
