We attach great importance to working with parents, to address challenges and remain successful.

At Bury College we aim to provide all our students with the support they need to develop and progress. We understand that college years can be both exciting and challenging for students, with lots of hard work and decisions to be made along the way. Our committed and caring tutors aim to ensure your son or daughter has access to any help they may require during their time with us. We also have a dedicated student services team and student learning mentors to provide advice and guidance, information and support.

During this transitional time in your son or daughter’s life, we want you to carefully consider all the options available for advancement and progression. You can be confident that at Bury College we will:

  • Provide a safe, caring, welcoming and friendly environment for your son or daughter.
  • Ensure a high quality learning experience.
  • Maintain highly qualified and experienced staff, who guarantee personal attention for both students and parents.

We offer a comprehensive education system including:

  • One-to-one support from teachers and personal tutors.
  • Regular marking of work and feedback.
  • Parents/carers consultation evenings.
  • Supervised study.
  • Policy of reporting absences to parents/carers.

We also:

  • Provide state-of-the-art facilities to ensure that your son or daughter has the best possible chance to prepare for the future, whether in employment or higher education.
  • Provide opportunities for your son or daughter to discuss career options with our own experienced tutors or Guidance Officers.
  • Welcome regular interactions with parents/carers and seek to maintain a productive partnership, that supports each student throughout his/her time at college.
  • Enforce comprehensive security features, to ensure that your child will be as safe as possible whilst studying at any of our centres. Health and safety procedures are in place to protect your son or daughter whilst on our premises. (Lanyards and ID badges must be worn to assist security monitoring and to access the college campus).
  • Deal with unacceptable and anti-social student behaviour on campus promptly and appropriately.
  • Help students to develop essential life skills such as time management, self-discipline and responsibility, through allocating personal study time.
