
Bury College Business Academy raise over £1,000 for Bury Hospice
Throughout the day, there were fun activities including a basketball challenge, penalty shootout competition and escape rooms.
Bryn Lawrence is a first-year Level 3 Sports student that is currently on track to have a fantastic cycling career.
Like many of his fellow students, Bryn has been busy putting the extra yards in outside of the classroom to help develop his sporting technique and wider knowledge around fitness and nutrition.
The former Kearsley Academy pupil has been cycling from a young age with his Dad and this has gone hand-in-hand with the wider development of the sport across Great Britain. Professional Cyclists like Chris Froome and Sir Chris Hoy have become household names and Bryn has dreams of matching their career success. He has already been selected for Team GB at the National School of Racing.
In addition to his sporting success, Bryn has also been thriving since he started at Bury College and spoke about the support he has been offered. He said: “Throughout my first year of College, all my tutors have been supportive of what I have been involved with outside of lessons.”
Jo Cullen, Bryn’s tutor at Bury College, said: “Bryn has been a fantastic student in the Sports department. We have also been fascinated by his cycling journey and wish him the very best with his dreams of becoming a professional cyclist.”
