At the Bury College Sport and Fitness Academy we pride ourselves in providing students with the skills, knowledge and experience they need to achieve their goals and kick-start their careers . Our Level 3 course develops the practical and theoretical skills needed for employment in the exciting and diverse sport and fitness industry.
Being part of the Bury College Sport and Fitness Academy means that in the second year of your Sport Level 3 course you will have the unique opportunity to specialise in one the following pathways:
- Sport Massage
- Fitness Instructing
- Sports Coaching

In your second year, you can choose to study one of the below additional qualifications:
• Level 3 Diploma in Massage Therapy for Sports (RQF)
• Level 2 Certificate in Planning and Delivering Gym-based Exercise (RQF)
• 1st4Sport Level 3 Certificate in Coaching (Sport and Physical Activity)
You will have the opportunity to be part of our Sports Academies. Players will receive two hours per week of expertise coaching that will include:

During your time at Bury College there will also be the opportunity to join sports teams and get involved in a wide range of sport enrichment. These may include:

You will be required to purchase a full sports kit. This is required for all practical sports activities. You may be required to pay for participation in study visits.
You will be required to participate in the full range of sporting activities offered by the college and will be actively encouraged to participate in enrichment activities outside of college time. You will need to participate in a five day work experience placement and you must also be prepared to commit to 15 hours of private self-study per week.
