About the vacancy
You will receive high-quality training in all aspects of hairdressing and will assist the stylists in the day to day running of the salon.
Shampoo, condition and treat hair and scalp
Cut hair using a range of technologies to create a variety of looks
Style and finish hair using a range of techniques to create a variety of looks
Colour and lighten hair using a range of techniques
You will be trained to specialise in perming & barbering
You will receive the following training:
Hair Professional Level 2 (Hair) Standard
There will be weekly timetabled classes (Monday)

You may be offered a full time position on completion of your apprenticeship
The starting salary is £15,392 a year for 37 hours Tuesday, 9.00am - 5.00pm,
Wednesday & Thursday, 9.00am - 8.00pm,
Friday, 9.00am - 5.00pm and
Saturday, 8.00am - 4.00pm.
The apprenticeship will run for 2 Years 3 Months.

Bury College welcomed learners from 12 Greater Manchester colleges for the GM Skills Foundation Studies Competition, where students showcased creative heritage-inspired projects and took part in a collaborative team challenge. The event celebrated student creativity, confidence, and community.
Bury College hosted the GM Skills Construction Competition on Friday 13th March 2026, with students from nine colleges competing across Plastering, Bricklaying, Carpentry and Joinery, Electrical Installation, Painting and Decorating, and Plumbing, showcasing top skills and earning multiple wins.
A former Bury College Hairdressing Apprentice has come full circle, embarking on an exciting teaching career which will see him inspire the next generation of Hairdressers.
Bury College welcomed a delegation from China and guests from the University of Salford for a curriculum showcase visit focused on vocational education, technical skills and international collaboration.
