You will develop technical and practical skills from the beginning of the course, using industry standard software, utilising post-production suites, and digital camera equipment and develop your skills.

You will learn about the media industry including how they target their audiences, finance their content as well as regulations they follow. You will also generate original ideas and concepts for content development in at least two different media platforms.

You will start to become familiar with real life working practices that are essential to working in media, this will support you in becoming a successful media professional. All that you learn will then be put to practical use on your industry placement, where you will be supported throughout by your tutors and mentors to apply what you have learnt to your job role.

You will develop your knowledge and understanding in the following core areas:

•      The individual in the creative industries

•      Cultural context and vocabulary

•      Audience and consumer needs

•      Legal and regulatory requirements

•      Professional standards and conduct in the workplace

•      Equality, diversity, and inclusion requirements

In addition to the core content, each student will also complete a specialist module in content creation and production.

For T Level Media, Broadcast and Production: 5 or more GCSEs at grade 9-4 (including Maths and English Language grades 9-4)
