Congratulations to our hugely talented Performing Arts and Music students who came out on top in a range of categories during the GMCG Skills Competition 2019.
The GMCG competitions invites students from colleges across the area to battle it out in a range of areas including Performing Arts, Music, Business and Travel and Tourism. Bury College Performing Arts and Music students blew judges away with the creativity, professionalism and attention to detail.
19 Performing Arts students competed in the competition with an astounding 17 making it to the final round. Learners were delighted to take home the highly prestigious ‘Overall Winners’ award and ‘Overall Runners-up’.
Other awards included Level 3 Dance and Overall Winners, Level 3 Devising and Overall Runners-up, Level 3 Music winners, Level 3 Musical Theatre winners, Level 2 Music runners-up, Level 2 Dance runners-up.

The talent and professionalism of the students was a pleasure to see and really shone through. They really did themselves proud. To win four out of five Level 3 categories as well as overall winner and overall runners-up is unparalleled and everyone is naturally delighted and justly proud. It was also great to receive the congratulations of Jim Cartwright our Patron upon receiving news of their success.”
