Our specialist Pathways to Learning courses provide opportunities to develop a range of abilities and personal skills for successful performance in working life and to support progression onto Level 1 and 2 courses or into employment. The main aim is to gain new skills, enhance your potential for learning and raise your aspirations whilst making informed choices about future progression routes.
You will gain specific and transferable skills whilst on the course and develop your confidence and resilience, decision-making and employability skills in a supportive environment. You will have the opportunity to trial different curriculum areas and be encouraged in making informed choices for your future progression.
You will study English reading, writing, speaking and listening as a significant part of the course to develop your communication skills. You will alsocomplete units on independent living skills and living in the community.
These course are assessed using a variety of methods including written work, practical activities, role play, presentations, group discussions, diagrams, posters and work experience. You will also study English and Maths, take part in work experience placements and study units to improve employability, personal and social skills.
Successful completion of these courses may lead on to one of the many exciting vocational pathways on offer at Bury College.
