Dylan Frasier-Kelly is a former Bury College apprentice passing on his knowledge and experience to current apprentice, Matthew Worthington.
Matthew Worthington, an apprentice training to be an Accountant, started with Jackson Lee Accountants in October 2022 and is thriving. This has been massively helped thanks to the advice and guidance of Dylan, his Line Manager.
Dylan spoke with great pride about how Matthew has developed since he started with the organisation: “Matthew is doing amazing with us and working really well with the team.”
He also spoke about the benefits of employing an apprentice from a business perspective and offered some advice to those thinking about taking on an apprentice. He added: “I would recommend it to anyone. Employing an apprentice is great for your business. In terms of advice, I would try and relate some of the training in the workplace to what the learner will be undertaking in his assessments.”
Matthew has gained a lot from his apprenticeship, he said: “I have enjoyed everything about the apprenticeship so far. Being in the workplace has pushed me to develop new skills that will only help my future career prospects. For anyone interested in training to be an accountant, I would recommend going down the apprenticeship route."
Following his successful start in the accountancy world, the 18-year-old is already thinking about the future. He added: "I'd love to become a chartered accountant."
