Bury Hospice has teamed up with Bury College to give Art students the chance to build their professional practice skills and work collaboratively in responding to a live brief whilst working with a charity that is close to the hearts of many.

Bury Hospice aims to help people fulfil their wishes during life-limiting illnesses, and they work hard to provide quality care whenever and wherever it is needed.

Students from the Level 3 Extended Diploma, Fine Art and Pre-Degree Foundation Diploma have been tasked with developing a mural that will be used in the lounge area that the patients will use for recreational activities.

They have been given the freedom to design the space, with a view to having this as an ongoing project year after year to help brighten up the Hospice.

Mary Ainsworth, Foundation Diploma Course Leader at Bury College, said: “This is such an amazing project for the students to be involved with. Not only is it giving them the experience of a live client brief, but they will be creating something that is going to have a huge impact on local people and the community.”

Our practical Art and Design courses aim to develop your creative skills so that you can pursue a successful career in the dynamic world of Creative Art and Design. https://burycollege.ac.uk/courses/vocational/art-design-and-communication-level-3
