A local Assistant Headteacher has praised the Bury College Coaching Professional Level 5 apprenticeship for helping her to develop in her role and career at Millwood School.

Katy Neild is an experienced professional in the education sector and wanted to enhance her skills to help develop as the Assistant Headteacher at Millwood School.

Katy said: “The apprenticeship has been immense in helping me within my current leadership role.  I am more confident in leading conversations, supporting colleagues and knowing how to get the best out of people in order for them to achieve their goals.

“As three members of staff are undertaking this course from school, we have been able to collaborate and make changes to our working environment and school ethos.  This is ongoing but is ultimately moving towards a more dynamic, driven and productive teaching team.  In my career, it has certainly given me the foundations of being more successful in my role and strategic leadership skills that I may have moved away from in the past.”
