Bury College is proud to have been issued once again with its Matrix Accreditation. This highlights the quality of the advice and guidance that we give our learners.
The Matrix Accreditation is a Department for Education initiative that aims to ensure the quality of the delivery of information, advice and guidance and personal development. Matrix benchmarks against best practice, only offering accreditation to those who meet the full standard.
Sarah Walton, Assistant Principal for Personal Development at Bury College, said: “We are extremely proud to have maintained our Matrix Accreditation. All staff here at the College deliver high-quality information, advice and guidance to our learners, throughout their journey with us. We are very pleased that this was recognised in the comments from the Matrix assessors. Our students leave us informed about their next steps and ready to move into work, or to further study.”

Positive Futures: Skills for Jobs. Skills for Life.
Offering the very best information, advice and guidance to our students is very much at the heart of what we do at Bury College. This includes careers advice and help with making decisions after finishing their course.
This was acknowledged in the report, stating: “Staff in curriculum and support roles work constantly to support the achievement of defined outcomes. Because learner outcomes are given such a high priority, learners experience consistency in support wherever it is accessed and can be confident that their success is considered in all aspects of information, advice and guidance support.”

Employer and partnership engagement
Our work with employers and other partners was also highlighted in this report. The Matrix report added: “The breadth of external partners’ relationships, including those with employer organisations, remains a strength, and it was found that relationships have become more robust.”
