Staff and students at Bury College are celebrating after once again being recognised as a Good college following a recent Ofsted inspection.

The Ofsted report highlights the positive practices which are taking place across the College and recognises that ‘learners behave very well in college and at work’ and are commended that ‘Bury College has a supportive and inclusive environment.’

Comments from the report include:

  1. Bury College has a supportive and inclusive environment, where there is a culture of high expectations and mutual respect.
  2. Learners and apprentices behave very well in college and at work.  
  3. Learners and apprentices develop confidence as a result of their courses.
  4. Learners and apprentices appreciate the support and encouragement they receive from staff.   

The report confirms the good quality of teaching, learning and assessment and praises leaders for establishing appropriate links with a range of stakeholders enabling them to ‘effectively use information about local and regional skills needs and plan courses to meet these needs’.

Their commitment and hard work have rightly been recognised by Ofsted as delivering high quality education and training. It is great to see that the behaviour of our students has been praised in the report. Student behaviour and mutual respect amongst students is something that we strive for every single day.”
