A former Bury College University student is thriving in the beauty management industry and credits the skills she gained on her course for this success.
Jazmin Starr, 31, from Prestwich, initially enrolled on the two-year Beauty Management HND course before completing the top-up course in the following year.
Jazmin said: “The course was amazing. There was lots of work experience opportunities, and the tutors were all fantastic.”
Since graduating in 2019, Jazmin put her education to good use and has found success within the beauty industry.
At first, she worked for an independent beauty brand before moving to a Business Development role with global brand GHD.
Her current role sees her work as a Sales Manager with Comfortel Salon Furniture UK Ltd, providing the latest salon equipment to businesses throughout the country.
Jazmin believes the course was very effective at preparing her for the world of work. She added: “I would recommend Bury College University Centre to anyone in the industry.”
Lynn Duerden, Assistant Curriculum Manager for Higher Education Provision and Programme Lead for Hair, Beauty and Media Make-up, said: “It’s really pleasing to hear the progress that Jazmin has made since leaving us.
