Are you a small business in Greater Manchester, or the surrounding area, looking to take on apprentices?
The UK Government has recently announced they will fully fund apprenticeships in small businesses from 1st April by paying the full cost of training for anyone up to the age of 21, reducing costs and burdens for businesses and delivering more opportunities for young people to kick start their careers.
This incentive will remove the need for small employers to meet some of the cost of training their young apprentices.
From the start of April, the government will also increase the amount of funding that employers who are paying the apprenticeship levy can pass onto other businesses. Apprenticeships can currently be funded by a levy paying employer transferring up to 25% of their unused levy to a different employer.
We currently work with a huge range of small and medium sized organisations across a diverse range of industries, supporting their apprentices and helping them to grow their businesses.
Recently we have worked with hair salon, Spectrum One. The salon manager, Victoria Hacking, spoke about the benefits of taking on a Bury College apprentice: “I would recommend it to any other organisation. The whole process is straightforward, and the apprentices themselves really add a lot to your business. They are always enthusiastic and ready to learn.”
Navid Tahir Principal Dentist of Whitworth Dental Care, said: “We have enjoyed working with Bury College as they have a well-structured programme, nice facilities and friendly staff that are always willing to help and assist the learners as well as the employers.”
We are proud to support these local businesses and would love to hear from you if you would like to explore recruiting a Bury College apprentice.
