ADULT LEARNER UNLOCKS CAREER POTENTIAL
A young woman from Radcliffe has completed a Bury College qualification which will help her to achieve her dream of completing a PhD in Pharmaceutical Chemistry.
Farzaneh Beigi enrolled onto the Level 1 English Functional Skills at Bury College in the September of last year. Having moved to Radcliffe from Iran in December 2015, Farzaneh wanted to gain a qualification which would allow her to apply to university.
The 34 year old believes the course has helped to develop her reading, writing and listening skills. Farzaneh said, “My experience at Bury College has been really good, the tutors are nice and I have learnt a lot. As a result my English is improving every day and I am gaining the skills I need to progress further.”
Farzaneh has applied to The University of Manchester to undertake his PhD and would like a career working in a chemical laboratory and helping to produce new medicines.
Farzaneh added, “I would definitely recommend Bury College as I have received a high level of quality in education.”
Helen Dunbar, Lecturer in Access and Education at Bury College said of Farzaneh’s achievement, “Farzaneh was a hard-working and committed student whose work both in and out of the classroom led her to achieve very good exam marks and she completed the overall FS Level 1 English qualification.”
