Professionals from one of the UKs leading institutions for performing arts visited Bury College vocational students to equip them with the skills needed to progress directly into employment.
Graduates from Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts (LIPA) delivered practical workshops to Performing Arts and Music students. The sessions outlined the different options available at LIPA and shared the skills and techniques learners could implement when auditioning for universities and job roles.
Ben Leventhall, Access and Schools/Colleges Liaison Manager at LIPA said, “As a specialist higher education provider based in Liverpool, it was great to visit the students of Bury College today to raise awareness and aspirations of the different progression opportunities that are available to them.”
Amelia Bell, a former Woodhey High School pupil who is studying BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Performing Arts said, “I really enjoyed the workshop as it gave me a real taste of what it would be like to study at LIPA and the standard that is expected during the audition process.
Former Tottington High School pupil Harry Lyle, studying BTEC Level 3 90 Credit Diploma in Music Practice added, “The sessions with LIPA were really useful and enjoyed the fact that we were able to use are initiative to write songs.”
