A LEVEL STUDENT BANKS ON WORK EXPERIENCE SUCCESS
A Bury College A Level student has calculated the route to career progression after completing work experience at Barclays.
A Level Business, French and Accounting student Umer Farooq completed work experience at Barclays. During his placement Umer worked alongside the Business Manager and Branch Manager where he observed appointments and spent time on the counter.
17 year old Umer believes the quality work experience Placement has helped to prepare him for his progression to Manchester Metropolitan University to study Accountancy and Finance.
Umer, a former Essa Academy pupil, said, “My work experience placement was really good and I have further developed my knowledge of the banking industry and the services they provide. The experience has also highlights the career route I would like to take.”
Celeste O’callaghan, Barclays Bury Branch Manager said of the placement, “We always like to offer young people work experience opportunities and really happy with our growing relationship with Bury College. We appreciate that it is our responsibility to encourage and facilitate young people within the Bury community.”
