GYMNAST GETS GOLD!
Congratulations to Bury College Sports student Jack Chamberlain who picked up three golds and one silver competing for Great Britain at the Cottbus International in Germany.
16 year old Jack, who is currently completing his Level 3 Sport diploma, took to the floor, pole, ring, vault, and high bar to showcase his award winning skills. The Bury Gymnastics Club member, who took to the sport at just 4 years old, joined the GB Team in 2013. From there, Jack’s career has excelled with him even being tipped for a potential place in a future Olympic squad.
Jack, from Elton in Bury, said of his win, “It was such a good feeling to win at the competition – I was so happy. I am looking forward to continuing with my gymnastics and seeing where it takes me in the future.”
As well as combining his studies with his six days a week training regime, Jack also coaches 6-8 years olds at Bury Gymnastics Club where he offers expert advice and guidance.
Jack added, “Bury College is brilliant as the facilities are really good and the tutors are very supportive. My course has also helped me with my gymnastics training as I have learnt more about how to manage my diet and sleep as well as knowledge of anatomy and understanding why injuries happen.”
