FINANCE APPRENTICESHIP PAYS DIVIDENDS
An enterprising Bury College apprentice has completed his Business Administration programme and is now on the road to achieving his career goal of becoming a Financial Advisor after securing a permanent contract of employment.
21 year old Morgan Payne has recently completed his Level 2 qualification with financial services company Logic Wealth Planning which was founded in 2005 and is based in Heywood. After securing his A Levels, Morgan chose the apprenticeship route which allowed him to earn money whilst achieving qualifications which would lead him to his long-term career goal.
During his apprenticeship, Morgan supported other members of the team through completing research tasks, updating spreadsheets, creating reports and taking phone calls.
Morgan, who is a former Matthew Moss School pupil said, “I wasn’t 100% sure what career path to follow, but I liked the idea of learning about investments and earning a wage. It was interesting work, varied and always challenging. I was set assignments and some on-the-job tasks and my tutor from college would visit the company to review my progress. Completing my Independent Financial Adviser exams is now my priority, and then building up a client base of my own. It’s definitely an industry with an exciting future.”
Yianni Theodorou, Logic Wealth Planning director, believes that apprenticeships can benefit organisations in every industry. He said: “There is a recognised skills gap in the financial services sector. We believe in a personal approach to investments, but we must have the right people in place to understand the complexities of financial products and also have the right skills to give customers the best possible advice. Morgan has exceeded expectations, and bringing new people into the business through the apprenticeship route is something we will certainly embrace in the future.”
Morgan, is now looking forward to undertaking the CII Level 4 Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning.
