BARBERING STUDENTS TRIUMPH IN PRESTIGIOUS COMPETITION
Two Bury College Barbering students are celebrating exceptional competition success after scooping regional awards and securing places to compete at a national level.
Talented Level 2 Barbering students Wayne Fielding and David Thomas impressed a panel of judges with their barbering skills during the regional round of the Hairdressers’ Federation competition 2019. Following their success, the duo will now compete at the national stage of the competition in Blackpool on March 11th.
31 year old Wayne was delighted to achieve second place in the national competition after he decided to enrol onto the Bury College course after choosing to retrain. 32 year old David was equally as proud to receive third place after also deciding to train for a new career.
Wayne said, “I really loved taking part in the competition and it was an amazing experience to compete in a practical competition.”
David added, “During the competition we were challenged with just half an hour to create a cut and finish. We were competing against professional barbers working in the industry so I was really proud to have been placed and make it through to the national stage of the competition.”
The students are now preparing to compete at the national Hairdressers’ Federation in Blackpool.
