One of the country’s most popular coffee chains has given a Bury College Foundation Studies student the opportunity to gain skills to secure a job within the retail industry.
Former Siddal Moor pupil James Taylor has undertaken a six week placement at Costa Coffee based in Tesco, Bury. From serving customers, to cleaning tables and making coffees, the 20 year old is delighted to be gaining a broad range of employability skills in customer service.
James, who lives in Heywood, said, “I am really enjoying my placement, I like serving customers and my confidence has improved.”
Hardworking James is combining his Bury College studies and Costa Coffee placement with volunteer work at Springhill Hospice charity shop in Heywood. James is hoping all the experience he is gaining will stand him in good stead for securing a full-time job within retail in the future.
James added, “I love Bury College and my tutors are so helpful.”
