Bury College students claimed a range of gold, silver and bronze awards during the 2019 Foundation Studies Sports Day.
Over 100 learners kick-started the new academic year with their annual sports day event. Activities included a relay, 50 and 200 meter sprints, shot put, archery and lap of honour.
Bury College Foundation Studies courses are available to local individuals who have learning difficulties and/or disabilities. The range of courses available aim to further develop student’s skills in independent living at home and in the community.
The sports day activities encouraged sportsmanship and helped to improve the confidence of students who all enjoyed the day’s events. The event also developed the health and well-being of learners and to promote a healthy lifestyle.
Daniel Cullen, Bury College Foundation Studies Lecturer said of the event, “The annual sports day was a great way to start the year and for our students to have the opportunity to make new friends and try new things. Everybody tried their best and developed new skills.”
