PERFORMING ARTS STUDENTS CELEBRATE RECORD-BREAKING PROGRESSION SUCCESS

Bury College School of Performance Class of 2020 is celebrating extraordinary success as students receive the highest number of university offers and scholarships to-date.

Proud to offer a career-enhancing course which provides students with the skills and experience to progress directly into industry, the training that students receive at the Bury College Jim Cartwright Theatre is a fantastic way to kick-start a professional Performing Arts career.

Meg Hennessy was delighted to be awarded a place at SLP College on the Musical Theatre Diploma. Meg has been offered a 100% scholarship which will help to support her throughout her studies.

Meg said, “I am so happy to have been offered a full scholarship to SLP College and I am so excited to start full time training. I feel Bury College has fully equipped me with all the skills I need to progress onto my next chapter. The amazing faculty have helped me develop and become the performer I am today. The opportunities given to us on the course are second to none and I have enjoyed learning from professionals in the industry.”

Also celebrating scholarship success is former Turton School pupil Jake Hill who has accepted a place at the Midlands Academy of Dance and Drama (MADD) and will be undertaking a Musical Theatre Diploma.

Jake said, “I have absolutely loved my time at Bury College and the memories I have had here will stay with me forever. I feel that the training I have received has given me so much confidence going forward with my life and I can’t thank the college enough for everything that they have done for me.”

Andy Tomlinson, Head of Bury College School of Performance, added, “The achievement of these performers is thoroughly well deserved and is testament to the drive and determination they have displayed, along with their talent, during their time at Bury College, and to the expertise of the staff to get the best out of them and inspire them to achieve their potential. It is such a shame that in the current climate they were not able to go out with a bang with their final musical which would have been exceptional. We wish them all well.”
