STUDENTS MAKE GENEROUS DONATION TO THE COMMUNITY
Business students have made a difference to the Bury community by hosting a range of fundraising activities and making a generous donation to a worthy charity.
Level 1 Bury College Business students raised an impressive £100 which they have donated to the British Heart Foundation Bury. The students worked together as a team to raise essential funds which will go a long way in supporting the charity that provides help for those suffering from heart disease.
The hardworking students were delighted to hold an event with staff and students from across Bury College and present a representative from the British Heart Foundation Bury with the cheque. During the event, they shared their fundraising activities that had taken place across the College campus which involved hosting a raffle and selling sweets.
Business student Elise Benham said, “It feels really nice to give back to the community and to know that we are helping people. The fundraising also taught us how to work in a team and how to organise and plan activities.”
Rachel Murray from the British Heart Foundation Bury said, “It’s amazing that the students have chosen to donate to our charity. It’s really good that the students know they can make a real difference.”
The charity initiative was a unit of the Business course and looks at making a difference to the community through fundraising. This developed student’s confidence and interpersonal skill.
