STUDENTS CALCULATE UNIVERSITY SUCCESS
Bury College Financial Studies students have been awarded scholarships from one of the UKs top specialist universities.
A host of hardworking students studying the London Institute of Banking and Finance (LIBF) Certificate in Financial Studies have achieved an A grade during the first year of their diploma. As a reward for their exceptional results, the students have been rewarded a £500 scholarship from which can be put towards their studies should they choose to study a degree at the London-based institution.
Rizwan Qureshi, Bury College Lecturer in A-level Maths and Accounting commented on the student’s exceptional results, “I am so proud of our students who achieved such a high grade and as a result have received a £500 contribution to their studies should they choose to progress onto a degree programme with the London Institute of Banking and Finance. I hope by receiving these scholarships it has given the students the confidence to achieve their career goals and secure employment within the accountancy, banking and financial industries.”
One of the students to receive the scholarship was Amelia Duffy, who is studying A-levels in Accounts, Business and Financial Studies. Amelia, who is a former Middleton Technology School pupil said, “I am so happy to have been recognised for achieving an A grade. I would really like to progress onto university and pursue a career as an investment banker so this has been great motivation.”
