FORMER ACCOUNTING STUDENT FINDS SUCCESS IN CELEBRITY MANAGEMENT
A former Bury College A-level student, Adam Kenzitt, has begun an exciting career with talent agency YMU Group, whose clients include stars such as Ant and Dec, Tom Daley, and Take That.
Adam attended Bury College from 2016 to 2018, joining the college from Middleton Technology School, and left with qualifications in Accounting, Law, and Maths. Initially unsure about the direction he wanted to take his career, Adam began a Level 3 AAT apprentice in the summer of 2018. He passed his Level 3 qualification in December 2019, and is now studying for the Level 4 AAT award.
During the course of his time with YMU Group, he has been promoted from Apprentice to Accounts Junior, and then again to Accounts Semi-Senior. Adam feels that his Accounting A-level is at least partially responsible for his success, as it equipped him with a good understanding of the concepts of accounting and gave him the underlying knowledge he would need to tackle his course. Adam added, “I also feel that studying at Bury College enabled me to transition smoothly into the world of work.”
Accounting wasn’t something Adam always knew he wanted to do. He described how, on the Bury College Open Day, he didn’t know what he wanted to do, but knew he liked Maths, so visited that department. While he was there, Accounting tutor Rizwan Qureshi came up to him and told him that if he liked Maths, he should try Accounting, which uses similar skills and is focused on problem solving.
About his time at Bury College, Adam said, “the teachers always have time for you no matter what, you can go to them for help, even about things not related to college, they are approachable and friendly and I felt well supported during my time at Bury College.”
Adam is now looking to complete his Level 4 AAT qualification, and progress further as an Account Manager.
