Some budding young performers from Bury College have taken part in a musical theatre masterclass with a prestigious performing arts school.
Second year Performing Arts Level 3 students were put through their paces by Liverpool Theatre School as they sharpened up their musical theatre skills.
During the masterclass, which was designed to provide an insight into training for a career on the stage, students enjoyed bespoke coaching sessions and picked up tips and advice on how to succeed at auditions.
Robyn Peirce, a student who’s currently in the 2nd year of an Extended Diploma in Performing Arts, attended the masterclass and said: “They are very helpful for me and my peers in terms of experience and our own personal development.
“You learn more about Performing Arts at the next stage and work with professionals who have been in the industry.”
Andy Tomlinson, Head of School of Performance, added: “Having organisations such as Liverpool Theatre School in to visit our learners is so beneficial for them. It gives them a glimpse of what awaits at the next level and raises their aspirations. The students enjoy themselves, have a different challenge and I hope it adds to their understanding, development and confidence.”
Rachel Saul, Head of Dance at Liverpool Theatre School, was impressed by the level of talent among Bury College students. She said: “It’s clear that there are some incredibly gifted performers at Bury College, and it was a real pleasure to deliver the recent masterclass to students.”
