Bury College have a dedicated Sport Enrichment Team who help to increase participation in sport and physical activity within college. They promote the benefits of staying physically active and encourage students to reach their potential. They are also committed to enhancing the student experience through a comprehensive activity programme.

Activities are open to all Bury College students who can also access free gym membership to the college gym and free swimming vouchers that can be used at local swimming pools.
The Sport Enrichment Team actively link with local sports clubs and coaches to ensure a development pathway for those students that would like to participate in sport outside of college.

As a student, you are invited to further enrich your learning experience by taking part in an exciting range of academic trips and visits. As part of your course, you may have the opportunity to take your learning outside of the classroom and enjoy educational trips in order to broaden your skills and abilities.
Bury College provides a range of A-levels, vocational courses, apprenticeships and university qualifications from Entry Level to Level 6; supporting your development and providing you with the opportunity to stay local and achieve your ambitions.
There are various financial support mechanisms available for students who are experiencing financial difficulty whilst studying at Bury College. These include Learner Support Funds, Bursaries and Awards*.
Support can be used to supplement the costs of attending college, e.g. transport, college equipment, meals in college, books, trips, specialised kits and other course related costs. There is also a limited amount of funding to support students with childcare costs. All financial support is subject to eligibility criteria so we urge you to make contact with Student Services staff as soon as you enrol (or before if possible) on 0161 280 8421 and they will be able to advise you.
*Please note, there are terms and conditions that apply to financial support for students. These are prescribed by the Government along strict guidelines that Bury College must follow.
Bury College offers two scholarships to encourage participation in activities that can enhance your life experiences and give you additional skills.
Bury College actively encourages students who excel in their sports to gain selection for regional and national teams. If you compete at this level, a Sports Scholarship of £150* is available to help provide some financial assistance. You do not have to be on a sport-related course to qualify for this Scholarship.
If you are a student who actively volunteers in the community then you could be eligible for a Community Scholarship of £150*. This scholarship recognises the important work you carry out in the community to make a genuine difference to people’s lives.
Bury College has a dedicated online learning platform called MyVLE. This provides access to your course resources, assignment briefs and other learning materials. Once you join the college you will have your own personal access and login to MyVLE.
