Our Science courses are held in high regard by many universities and will equip you with the essential skills for a variety of future careers. By studying Science at A-level you will not only advance your subject knowledge but you will also improve your ability to problem solve, analyse information and reach scientific conclusions.

You will also benefit from our state-of-the art laboratories and industry standard equipment.

Physics will enable you to develop an understanding of how the world around you functions. This ranges from the extremely large (the Cosmos) right down to the extremely small (the Quantum world).

  • You will also be awarded a CPAC certificate for successful completion of 12 required practical experiments. This demonstrates to universities that you are competent in the laboratory

A-level Science qualifications provide access a wide variety of higher education courses and careers. Traditional routes following A-level Sciences include:

  • Teaching
  • Engineering
  • Architecture

We would recommend purchasing a textbook (£25) or revision guide (£5) to supplement learning that is taking place throughout the year.

You will also engage in the Positive Futures Careers Programme, developing key employability skills through a diverse range of activities including work placements, volunteering, employer talks, industry study visits and employment and university fairs.

For A-level Physics: Grade 9-6 Combined Science OR Grade 9-6 Physics & Grade 9-6 in one other Science; Grade 9-5 English Language; Grade 9-6 Maths. A-level or Level 3 Maths must also be studied.
