This qualification is aimed at helping you progress onto a higher level qualification in either Sport or Public Services.

You will study a range of set topics, as well as specialise in topics related to your chosen course progression.

Qualification studied:

Introduction to Vocational Studies Level 1

The topics studied on this courseinclude:

  • Being organised
  • Developing a personal progression plan
  • Working with others
  • Researching a topic
  • Advising others about healthy lifestyles
  • Responding to an incident
  • Planning and navigating a route
  • Keeping active and healthy
  • Playing sport

Assessments will be covered using a wide range of methods used to develop your theoretical knowledge and practical competencies, aligning with real life careers and supporting the development of the wider skills such as confidence, collaboration, resilience and commitment. Assessments will include a range of the following; written reports, practical assessments, professional discussions, presentations.

For Level 1 Introduction to Sport: 4 GCSEs at grade 9-2 (including English Language). An interest in sport is essential.
