A Bury College A-level student is about to take her next step in education after achieving exceptional results to earn a place at University of Cambridge, where she will be studying Natural Sciences.
Verity Arden, 18, achieved an A* and 3 A’s and the former Kearsley Academy pupil was delighted with the results. She said: “I’m just so happy and proud. I have had an amazing experience at Bury College, and I’m excited about the next step now.”
In addition to celebrating those amazing results, Verity was also thinking further ahead and what she’d like to do once she eventually finishes her education. When thinking about her dream career, she added: “I’d love to work in Conservation or Ecology.”
Staff from the Bury College A-levels team said: “Verity was an outstanding Bury College student. Her passion for her subjects shone through in everything she did, and she worked with incredible determination to achieve her fantastic results. We believe Verity will flourish at University of Cambridge and wish her all the best.”
Verity is following in the footsteps of her brother Levi Arden in going to an Oxbridge University. Levi left Bury College with equally exceptional results (2 A*’s in Further Mathematics and Mathematics and 1 A in Physics) and progressed on to University of Oxford in 2020 to study Physics.
Bury College is incredibly proud of all its students who have continued to adapt and progress, both academically and personally through challenging times in order to achieve their exceptional results.
