
Bury College Business Academy raise over £1,000 for Bury Hospice

It has been another year of exceptional achievement at Bury College.
Over 750 students are on target to take up university places and many more will be progressing into jobs, including Apprenticeship jobs.

Phoebe McEwen achieved three impressive A* grades in A Level English Language, French and History. The former Bury Church of England High School pupil will now progress onto Lancaster University to study French and German Studies.
Phoebe said, “I feel immensely proud of myself. I couldn’t believe my eyes when I opened my results! My A Level studies have been challenging but rewarding and I couldn’t have achieved these grades without the support and feedback from my tutors.”
Edward Sinar has secured Triple Distinction Stars in his BTEC Level 3 Sport Diploma. Edward, a former St Monica’s RC High School pupil will now progress onto the University of Central Lancashire to study Policing and Criminal Investigation.
Edward said, “I am very happy with my results. I have enjoyed my time at Bury College and I have developed skills which will help me on my course at university.”
Alex Latham, a former Bolton St Catherine’s Academy pupil secured A grades in A Level Maths and Chemistry and a B grade in Photography. Alex will now move onto study Aerospace Engineering at the University of Liverpool.
Alex said, “I feel so proud to achieve the results I have done. I have had lots of support from my tutors who have pushed me to be the best I can be.”
Former Bolton St Catherine’s Academy pupil Louise Birch has secured Triple Distinction Stars in her BTEC Level 3 Animal Management Diploma. Louise will now progress onto University Centre Reaseheath to study Animal Management.
Louise said, “I am very happy with my results because I worked so hard. The staff at Bury College have been very helpful and caring.”
Ibrahim Hussein, a former Falinge Park High School pupil has secured Triple Distinction Stars in his BTEC Level 3 IT Diploma. Ibrahim will now progress onto Manchester Metropolitan University to study Computer Science.
Ibrahim said, “I feel very proud of myself to achieve these amazing results. I have enjoyed my time at Bury College as I have made lots of friends.”
Ryan Hopkins, a former Wardle Academy pupil secured an A* grade in A Level Maths and two B grades in Further Maths and Physics. Ryan will now progress onto the University of Liverpool to study Aerospace Engineering.
Ryan said, “I am relieved that all my hard work has paid off and I have achieved such exceptional results.”
Rebecca Robey, a former Co-op Academy Manchester pupil secured two A grades in A Level Maths and Chemistry and a B grade in Further Maths. Rebecca is now progressing onto The University of Manchester to study Mathematics.
Rebecca said, “The tutors at Bury College have been amazing and the resources available are great. I now feel well prepared for university.”

We are delighted to announce that former Access to Higher Education student Kelly Doran has won the Keith Fletcher Access to HE Memorial Prize 2021-22 in the category of Outstanding Commitment to Study.

When the England football team were preparing to take on the world in Qatar, a Bury College A-level student was preparing to represent Great Britain in a different kind of football.
