Bury College Art and Media students have recently been collaborating with Alison Hamilton, a clothing and costume designer, and Katie Douglas at Bury Creatives, as part of an exhibition which explores the fashion of football fans from the North West.
This project coincides with L. S. Lowry’s iconic masterpiece 'Going to the Match' being put on public display in Bury Art Museum & Sculpture Centre from 4th October - 1st March.
The students have taken on a particular interest in the 1970s/80s personalisation of match wear as well making comment on the importance of ethical fashion. Students from three different courses took part to up-cycle their own garments, design badges and photograph the final outcomes.

The work will be displayed in the gallery until February and it’s worth a visit if you’re a football fan and want to see the talented work of our young artists on display.
